It was once said that home is where the heart can laugh without shyness and where the heart's tears can dry at their own pace. I hope this space will be a place you find yourself at home. I hope you will find safety, comfort and joy on these pages. You are seen and you are loved dear friend. Thanks for stopping by!

The First Day of School
Today was my first day of school at Biola University! I am going to school for the next three weeks for 12 hours a day! I am learning how to teach English to foreign speakers and I am so excited. It was a great first day of school, made new friends, sat in an uncomfortable desk for hours, visited the bookstore and campus burger joint, was the first one to have her cell phone go off while the teacher was talking (I could've died! That thing never rings and the one time!), played silly get to know you games and even taught a class myself! What a day! It was really a blessing and I'm so thankful for this opportunity. My prayer is that this class will enable me to teach English well and open up more opportunities for me to share God's love to a lost and dying world... there is hope in Jesus Christ! "There are many who say, 'who will show us any good?' Lord lift up the light of your countenance upon us." Psalm 4:6

Here she is! My beautiful niece, Alyssa Lynn Mormile! Don't you love her already? She is now two months old and growing so much! She is starting to smile and make little baby sounds, so sweet! It is an incredible privilege to be here during this time with my sister Audrey, her husband Mike (pictured above, kissing Alyssa!) and this sweet gift from God, Alyssa.

Be Still...
“Be still and know that I am God” (Psalm 46:10)
For those of you who are reading this, please understand that I write as I learn… these things I write I am in this moment wrapping my heart and mind around and I am joyfully glad to share my heart with you…
Be still…
How many times do we hear God say this and we say “yes, God! I will be still, I will wait upon you, I will let you work out the circumstances, situations, relationship, etc. in my life… BUT first let me just do this one thing…
We think God needs our help! We say I’ll trust you, but let me just get you started in the right direction… and then once we get started we find ourselves having to do “just one more thing” again and again and again.
Do you find yourself in the middle of a difficult circumstance asking God why? We want to know why! We say, “Ok, God I’ll endure this trial as long as you show me why”. Do you know God’s most common answer to the question “why?”? “Because I am” He is God! He is God… and not only is He God, the Almighty, the First and the Last, but He loves you! You are His precious child and if you will only rest in that you will not need to know why, you will not try and help Him out when He says be still, you will know that He is God and part of knowing that He is God means knowing that He is love (1 John 4:16).
Precious child of God, listen to your loving Father today! He is longing to be near you, longing to be known by you, longing for you to let go! Snuggle up to your Papa and rest in His love, rest in the knowledge that He is God!
